VoP News – A New Direction, A Spiritual Home
Note: In October 2009, Vessels of Peace celebrated the beginning of a new seven-year cycle – one that will bring, in 2010, an actual location from which to anchor and offer our service! Please read on for more details. Please note that we have sprinkled throughout the article some quotes from The Return of the Feminine and the World Soul, by Sufi teacher Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, a book we highly recommend.

Ancient Tradition, New Paradigm:
A Home for Vessels of Peace
“She can awaken us … to an ancient memory coming alive in a new way.”
When the Vessels of Peace Core Circle came back from Canada and our visit to Soul of the Mother in May (see June 2009 newsletter), we sensed that Vessels of Peace, as we have known it, was complete - that a new form for this work was emerging in our collective awareness as a result of this journey. We had been shown – and experienced - Vessels of Peace as both an ancient tradition and a new paradigm. We learned that its energetic signature, or frequency, was seeded in ancient times, with the intention that its fruits be harvested and shared in these times.
“Feminine spiritual consciousness can reawaken the world to its sacred nature as a living being, and so help it to heal and transform.”
We spent the summer taking this all in, being with it, integrating it … a humbling and exciting process, to be sure! During this time, Wende Bartley and Lynda Terry were welcomed into the Core Circle, and also during this time, it was confirmed that the new form of the work emerging required a physical location … a serene and healing space, on sacred ground, where women can come to deepen their practice of the feminine path and deepen their commitment and capacity to serve. Co-creating and nurturing this place, to be called Sweet Waters Sanctuary, will be our primary focus in 2010, along with re-visioning and evolving Vessels of Peace practices and services to align with this new focus.
“… the transition or transformation that is needed … does not have to happen on the level of mass collective consciousness … changes have always started just within small groups…”
Two of the core circle members will reside full-time at the sanctuary, and others (hopefully, many of you!) will come for periods of retreat, learning, and service. The other core circle members who don’t live at the sanctuary will be very involved in its unfolding, as well as be present there at various times to collaborate in programs or service offered.
So where, you may be asking, will this wonderful oasis of peace for women be located? |
